Area Director of Operations

James is the Area Director of Operations for Bloom Senior Living, and the Executive Director of Bloom at Kokomo. He was previously Bloom at German Church's and Bloom at Eagle Creek's Executive Directors. James is responsible for overseeing daily operations and providing support to Bloom at Eagle Creek and Bloom at German Church, ensuring high quality care and services are provided to residents and achieving high resident satisfaction. Like the Bloom owners who were inspired after experiencing the challenge of finding the right home for their grandmother when she began suffering from Alzheimer's, there is a touching personal story behind James' passion for senior care. James believes in offering a modern, lifestyle approach to healthcare that caters to the needs of each individual. He shares Bloom's vision, core values and is committed to creating a living environment that fosters self-growth and self-actualization for our residents by providing them with the tools, resources and encouragement to flourish. Before joining Bloom, James worked for national providers as the Executive Director and Director of Admissions and Marketing for Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing communities in Indiana. Before becoming a licensed Health Facility Administrator, James ran his own commercial production company specializing in corporate and large-scale entertainment (for clients such as the Indianapolis, Colts, Harrah's Casino, Wonka Candies and Indianapolis Convention and Visitors Association); and worked in the beverage and automotive industries. He is also a professional magician. James attended Indiana State University and is working towards his Master's Degree in Arts at University of Indianapolis. He resides near Greenfield, Indiana with his wife and children.

Executive Director

Susan is the Executive Director responsible for overseeing daily operations of the community, ensuring quality care and services are provided to residents and achieving high resident satisfaction. She's been a healthcare leader for over two decades with strengths in problem solving, developing action plans, effective communication, supervision and training, team building, ensuring strict compliance with regulations, providing high quality care and services to residents and securing positive outcomes for seniors and their families. Over her distinguished career, Susan worked for local and national providers of Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care – as an Executive Director - leading communities throughout Indiana. In her leadership roles, she achieved various accomplishments including maintaining 100% occupancy (signaling strong resident and family satisfaction), team building awards, and top performance surveys for resident, family and associate satisfaction. She has a proven track record of creating cultures consistent with Bloom's mission, values and culture. Susan also held the important position of Executive Director for the Indiana Assisted Living Federation (state affiliate of Argentum) directing the statewide association on behalf of Indiana assisted living communities. As Executive Director, she, among other things, served on the Indiana Department of Health committee to revise Indiana’s Residential Care Rules supporting stronger aging in place; led efforts to change rules allowing for residents requiring advanced care to remain in residential care (if medically stable); led changes allowing residents living in assisted living to receive LTC insurance benefits; lobbied on behalf of Indiana senior living; and served as liaison between communities and the State of Indiana for regulatory and survey issues, Medicaid issues, fire safety, and new administrator license for Residential Care. Susan holds a Residential Care Administrator's license. She received a Master of Science from Indiana Wesleyan University, and a Bachelor of Science from Lincoln Christian University. She sits on the Board of Trustees of Lincoln Christian University, and sat on the Board of Directors for the Indiana Assisted Living Association.

Wellness Director

Jana is the Wellness Director. Her responsibilities include overseeing our resident’s health care services, medication delivery system, and developing each resident’s care plan. Jana started in Nursing at 17 years old as a Certified Nurse Assistant in California. She joined that Navy at 19 thinking she would become a Hospital Corpsman (medic) but instead she learned how to repair the ship’s engines and air conditioners. After she completed her service in the Navy she moved with her husband to Indiana where she returned to working as a CNA and enrolled in nursing school. She graduated from IVY Tech in 1991 and began working as a LPN. She has worked in Long Term Care for more than 25 years; Working as a charge nurse, unit manager, MDS Coordinator before coming to Bloom. Achieving resident happiness is her number one priority. Jana resides in Franklin, Indiana with her husband and two dogs. Her favorite leisure activity is spoiling her grandchildren!

Barbara Bennett

Business Office Manager

Barbara is the Business Office Manager responsible for maintaining day-to-day business office operations and procedures, including payroll, rent deposits and resident billing. For the previous 2 decades, Barbara worked in the corporate office of a management company that owned and operated numerous skilled nursing facilities and other businesses across central and southern Indiana. In addition to being a certified bookkeeper, Notary Public and experienced property sales manager, she has managed a wide spectrum of businesses including condominiums and multi-family. Originally from Shelbyville Indiana, Barbara was raised on the family farm. She currently resides on the south side of Indianapolis with her dog Vinnie. She has a daughter and son. Her time at home is spent exercising, reading and socializing with friends and neighbors. You will know Barbara by her smile.

Community Relations Director

Anna is the Community Relations Director responsible for sales and marketing and has helped numerous families find placement for their loved ones. She is here to help you navigate the process and find the best fit for you and your loved one. Anna was previously Bloom's Life Enrichment Coordinator and was certified as an Activity Director in 2011. She completed specialized training for Alzheimer’s and related memory disorders. Anna attended Indiana Institute of Technology and received her degree in business administration.

Sherry is the Life Enrichment Coordinator responsible for planning and coordinating community-sponsored activity, exercise and wellness programs for residents.

Toni Palmer

Toni Palmer

Director of Housekeeping

Toni is the Director of Housekeeping responsible for keeping our resident’s homes and surroundings in a clean and safe condition. Toni is a self-motivated achiever who simply gets the job done. Toni has held several housekeeping and management positions for over 30 years. She has a son & a daughter and four grandchildren. Toni spends a lot of time with her family after work. She has two dog’s and she lives on the south east side of Indianapolis.

John is the Director of Maintenance responsible for maintenance, repairs and improvements to the community and keeping our residents' homes and surroundings in a clean, comfortable and safe condition. John loves working and interacting with our residents and families on a daily basis to ensure our residents are safe and happy.
